Happy Holidays, can you believe how fast 2025 has gone? Lots of exciting news from the world of the Griffons Den, so let's dive in.
1. 2025 Holiday Battle Royale challenge!
DM the DM challenges all comers! December 13, 2025. 6:30 pm arrival, orientation and character vetting; 7:00 pm start, fight until one player standing or the 11:00 PM cut-off.

2. New beginner campaigns starting soon!
We are excited to announce two new beginner campaigns, one for adults and one for families.
Sunday afternoon adult beginner campaign. Sundays 2 to 5 pm. Dragon Heist/Mad Mage. DM Jasmine. Starts December 14th.
Friday evenings family beginner campaign. Fridays 6 to 8 pm. Ghosts of Saltmarsh, then Yawning Portal Adventures. DM the DM. Starts January 9th.
3. TCTC Table Top Convention in Vancouver
March 13 to 15, 2026, Vancouver Convention Centre West: terminalcitycon.ca

4. New official books
Three official new WotC D&D sourcebooks are out:
- Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun
- Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun
- Eberron: Forge of the Artificer
All of these contain new and updated rules and game features, including new spells, character class features, magic items, etc. To be honest, they are underwhelming and a little disappointing compared to past books like Tasha's or Xanathar's. The Eberron book in particular is wafer thin. Still, we will be adding them to the officially sanctioned list for the PureRAWdnd Shared Campaign, but not until AFTER the Battle Royal, so as not to introduce any potentially unbalancing variables.
The one feature I would encourage everyone to read is the Circle Spell Casting from p.139 of Heroes of Faerun. That's the only exciting change to speak of, from my point of view.
